How to Remove Smart HDD Fake Security Program?

Smart HDD (aka SmartHDD) is a new fake computer optimizer that reports fabricated computer problems in order to mislead computer users to buy its alleged commercial version promising that it can resolve all problems. Being a clone of HDD Rescue and HDD Recovery, Smart HDD has similar software interface and rogue characteristics. Smart HDD does not ask for your approval to get installed on your computer. You may let it in when downloading free web resources with Trojans attached. But soon you will notice its presence on your PC. Once running, Smart HDD imitates examining your system for errors and then displays a dozen of system errors, such as hard drive problems, RAM memory issues and other similar problems. Another trick implemented by Smart HDD is a large number of phony alerts telling about urgent issues on your PC. Please don t believe what Smart HDD tells you. Don t try to uninstall it via Add/ Remove Programs, because you can t find it in the uninstall list. To ensure a smooth removal, you should reboot your system in “Safe Mode with Networking” by hitting F8 key. 1. Restart your computer and keep pressing F8 Key before Windows launches. Use the arrow keys to select the “Safe Mode with Networking” option, and then hit ENTER Key to continue.

2. Open Task Manager and end the processes of Smart HDD Virus.

3. Click Start button and click Run

4. Type in regedit and run it.

5. Find and delete the following registry files of Smart HDD Virus:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun “[random]”

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun “[random].exe”

6. Show all hidden files so as to completely delete Smart HDD Virus.

7. Click View tab and select Show files and folders and save the changes.

8. Search your hard disk and delete the following files Smart HDD Virus:

%Temp%dfrgr
