How to Remove Virus Protector Rogue Anti-Spyware?

Virus Protector Information:

Virus Protector (also referred to VirusProtector) is a bogus anti-spyware that is promoted through the use of trojans and other malware. Trojans come from fake online scanners or other bogus sites and then download this fake program onto your computer. Once installed, Virus Protector creates new files into Windows directories and configures the Registry in order to dominate your system processes as it advances. When it’s running, Virus Protector will run a fake system scan and display a list of infections that can’t be removed unless you first purchase the program. What’s more, it will display lots of fake security warnings and pop-ups saying that your computer is under attack or baldy infected by Trojans. As you can see this is nothing more but a scam. You can’t find Virus Protector in your Control Panel Add/Remove Programs, for you havn’t installed it. SO please use the removal guide below to remove Virus Protector from your computer either manually for free or with an automatic removal tool.

Note: If you are not proficient with computer, it’s suggested that you backup your registry before manually removing Virus Protector Rogue Anti-Spyware. And double check the entries that you are going to delete, or your computer can’t work for missing some files.

Step 1. End its process by opening Task Manager.

Step 2. Delete the following registry entries:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Virus Protector”

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows “LoadAppInit_DLLs” = “1”

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows “AppInit_DLLs” = “.dll”

Step 3. Delete the following files:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\[User]\\Application Data\\[random].exe, C:\\Documents and Settings\\[User]\\Application Data\\[random].dll, C:\\Documents and Settings\\[User]\\Local Settings\\Temp\\[random].exe, C:\\Documents and Settings\\[User]\\Local Settings\\Temp\\[random].dll, C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\[random].exe, C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\[random].dll, C:\\WINDOWS\\[random].exe, C:\\WINDOWS\\[random].dll, C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\[random].exe, C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\[random].dll, C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\drivers\\[random].exe, C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\drivers\\[random].dll

Step 4. Unregister the following DLL files:

[random].dll

 

Please, be aware that manual removal of Virus Protector Rogue Anti-Spyware is a cumbersome task and can not always ensure complete removal of the malware, due to the fact that some files might be hidden or may get reanimated automatically afterwards. Automatic Virus Protector Rogue Anti-Spyware Removal:

1. Restart your computer and keep pressing F8 Key before Windows launches. Use the arrow keys to select the “Safe Mode with Networking” option, and then hit ENTER Key to continue.

2. Download Spyware Cease (Spyware Cease review), install it and update its database to the latest. After that, restart your computer so as to make Spyware Cease fully functional. Repeat Step 1 into Safe Mode and run an Online Scan of your computer so that Spyware Cease can detect all potential malware in your system.

NOTE: If you have problem installing Spyware Cease, you can download this correction script, unzip it and then double click to run it. It will correct your registry settings that the virus has modified. Then double click the program and finish the installation.

3. After the Online Scan finishes, click “Details” for the malware detected to make sure that your important data are not infected and removed. Ignore or select the scan result and click “Remove” to remove the threats. Reboot your computer and let Spyware Cease delete all detected virus.

4. Click to repair your corrupted registry

1. Download and install Multi-Awarded Registry Tool.
2. Run a full scan of your registry.
3. Click “Repair Problems” and repair all errors detected.
