How Much Better Is Norton Or Other Antivirus/firewall Protection Than The Standard Windows Firewall?

Norton hogs a lot of my computer resources and I’m starting to think all this protection is just a lot of crap programs designed to keep programmers employed. If you think otherwise, I’m all ears.

Here is a pretty good article about why the Windows Firewall not enough:http://resources.zdnet.co.uk/articles/co…
Norton is not the only game in town, and the resource hogging is the main reason people switch. There are several free alternatives.

Norton isn’t good at all. Uninstall Norton and get AVG as it is way better than Norton. AVG gives you virus protection and spyware protection. Norton takes up way too much room and it slows your computer. I don’t like Norton and I think AVG will good on your computer.

The best firewall available is the Comodo Firewall Pro, and it is free:http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

Windows firewall only protects incoming attracts, whereas, the Norton will prevent unauthorized sending of messages. Therefore, a conclusion would be to use Norton and not Windows.

ok here it is the windows firewall really isn’t good at all.your best choice is to install a separate firewall even the one that come with norton is bad.install comodo firewall.its free and works like a charm.bottom line windows firewall doesnt really block to much trafic and is kida retarted.norton etc realy itn’t a true firewall.trust me been in the pc world for 17 years and still learning
